The Canadian-born, San Francisco-based son of a nun and a geographer (and the stepson of a diplomat and a Hollywood producer), Christopher Simmons is creative director of MINE™, a design firm engaged in the creation of identities, books, consumer products, packaging, and print and interactive campaigns for scientific visionaries, education reformers, best-selling authors, museums, entrepreneurs, industry behemoths and the occasional stranger.
Concerned with the exploration of meaning, space, negotiation and value, Christopher is a designer, writer, educator and design advocate, and an adjunct professor of design at the California College of the Arts. A former AIGA Chapter President, he’s also a frequent judge and lecturer on design issues. The author of four books, his most recent, Just Design, focuses on designing for social causes.
