Renee Black
Renee Black is a peace geek.
Founder and Executive Director of PeaceGeeks, a Vancouver-based non-profit that supports vulnerable communities affected by conflict and disaster by connecting them with technology to advance peace, human rights and humanitarian action. Renee and her team have supported more than 50 organizations in 20 countries in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Prior to launching PeaceGeeks, Renee worked as a Technology Projects Manager in the private sector and subsequently with the United Nations and the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders on policy related to the Women, Peace & Security framework. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from Dalhousie University and a Masters of International Affairs (Hons) from the University of Ottawa, and is a Fellow of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.
