Nicole Lee
Nicole Lee is proof that the music is not in the piano. A native of Vancouver, Canada, Nicole has performed as a solo pianist with several symphony orchestras including the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Florida West Coast Symphony, and will appear as soloist with the Valparaiso University Orchestra this fall. She was praised as “outstanding” by The Strad for her work on Scandinavia, the first of 3 CDs recorded with violinist Gregory Maytan. The duo has appeared twice on the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series held at the Cultural Arts Center in Chicago. Selected as the outstanding graduate of the Keyboard Studies Department in both her graduate and undergraduate programs, Nicole holds B.M. and M.M. degrees in Piano Performance from the University of Southern California, performance and teacher’s diplomas from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, and Licentiate and Fellowship diplomas from Trinity College of London. Nicole is constantly searching for ways to breathe music into all aspects of her life – she delights in teaching young students, collaborating with all musicians – from tenors to trombonists, and she currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Music Valparaiso University in Indiana.
